2023 WAS QUITE A YEAR...
FEB.
White T-Shirt Party
We kickstarted our 2023 season with our annual white t-shirt party and this time, with a neon twist. A night of fun and games was the perfect way to welcome our newbies at their very first Seagods social.
MAR. Open Top Bus
In March, Seagods dressed up in their best superhero costumes and boarded an open top bus for an epic adventure. We stopped off at numerous bars as we journeyed around Hong Kong.
APR.
Middle Island
We commenced our season by securing the Middle Island Cup (2.5km) and second-place finish in the bowl race (1km)!
APR. Lamma Island
We won Gold in the 1km Race Champions and second runner-up in the 500m category!
MAY. Quizzical
In May, we got quizzical with our resident Quizmaster and former Seagod, Mark Swinkels. Prizes were on offer for the team who came out on top in this test of general knowledge, pop culture and Seagods trivia.

Scavenger Hunt
Teams raced against time to complete a variety of fun (and some slightly daring) challenges in our infamous Scavenger Hunt. Our friendly, competitive spirit definitely came out in this social!
JUN. Stanley Internationals
In a historic achievement at the 2023 Stanley International Dragon Boat Championship, for the first time a team had two boats on the podium: Stanley Champions and Stanley 2nd Runner Up!
JUN. Hong Kong Internationals
Racing against the best Hong Kong teams, we won Bronze, and on the following day, we went to the Grand Final against national teams of Hong Kong, Poland, China, Thailand, Philippines and Australia!
JUN. Junk Boat
With the main season over, we celebrated in style on our annual Seagods junk. What better way to show off our brand new Seagods swimwear?
SEP. Nationals 200m - Club Crew 2024 Qualifications
In our first opportunity to qualify for the esteemed Club Crew 2024 event in Ravenna, we came in fourth among the top Hong Kong teams. Our journey to Italy draws near!
OCT. King of the World - Fishermen Race
We took part in our first fishermen race and it was an honour to be side by side with local teams!
OCT. Hualien Pacific International
During the highly competitive international race in 2023, we showcased our skills against renowned clubs from around the world, securing Bronze in the grand final!
OCT. Discovery Bay
As defending champions, we raced in Discovery Bay and won the Mixed Champions Trophy!
NOV. Nationals 500m - Club Crew 2024 Qualifications
Once again, we embarked on a qualifying race for the Club Crew 2024, and with exceptional performance, we advanced to the finals! Our journey to Italy in 2024 is now within reach!
NOV. Gay Games Hong Kong
In our last race of the year, after a thrilling final, we won Gold in the 200m - Mixed All Gender!
DEC. Golden Teabags
The Golden Teabags Awards in December was the ultimate celebration of our most successful season to date. Dressed in our finest gear, we recognised those who made outstanding achievements to the club and commemorated our highlights from the year.
